16th Annual Town Wide Tag Sale

The 16 th Annual Cavendish Town-Wide Tag Sale will be held on Saturday July 25, 2025 from 9-2.                                           

Two weeks prior to the sale, we post vendor item pictures on the Cavendish, VT Facebook page. 

The Cavendish Town Wide Tag Sale began in 2011 as part of the town’s 250th anniversary’s yearlong celebration. Because it was such a hit, Cavendish Connects has continued to sponsor it. It takes quite a bit of time to coordinate this event, therefore we are asking the Cavendish community to help support Cavendish Connects by making a donation now, the day of the sale or shortly thereafter, which can be done from the CC’s donation page. 

The following information is provided for vendors:

• The sale will be concentrated along Main Street (Route 131), with both village greens available.

•  Anyone setting up on a village green is responsible for bringing all supplies and removing all trash and items that did not sell by the end of the day.

• Secondary areas will be off High Street in Cavendish Village and Route 103, Twenty Mile Stream and Depot Street in Proctorsville. Those along High Street, Route 103, Twenty Mile or other areas should think about signage.

• Signage will go up two weeks before the event.

• Vendors from other towns can participate in the sale but they must pre-register and pay a fee of $15.

• Those who wish to register for space at the Greens, or have their site listed on the vendor list (on-line only) should send an e-mail to cavendishconnects@gmail.com or call 802-226-7807. Please note that the more information you can provide about what you have for sale, the more shoppers you will attract.

• Furniture including a dinning room glass top table with leaf and chairs, books shelves, side tables, home goods, glassware etc.

  • Music CDs and sterling rings

  • Lawn Mower and rug

  • Children’s toys, housewares and free stuff

  • Collectables, toys, a real mishmash

PROCTORSVILLE VILLAGE

• 77 Maple St. (left before the school) Snowthrower (yard machine) electric start still works well, 5x8 area rug, Antiques, vintage & primative kitchen, old collectible bottles, milk bottle holders/carriers, old vintage cameras, vintage Christmas,  Dept 56, Siverplate serving items, Retired Lenox, quality Art glass pieces,  tools, electric miter saw, drill, miter box, bottle jack, working space heaters, dehumidifier, wrought iron bistro chairs, framed vintage prints, skiers wall art, craft supplies, Mosiac tools, mosiac items of tiles, old plates, small furniture,  Art Deco quilt rack, Artisan made mosiac topped antique Wilcox & Gibbs sewing base, old stained glass window, antique privacy glass, lawn tools, Landscaper rake, bags of lime, small work bench, driftwood for art projects, floral artificial flowers ( never used), yard care products,  spray paints, gently used clothing, still going into closets and gathering things,  the neighbor will be bringing some of their items. More and more items to be added to this list. CASH only no Venmo available.  

• Cavendish Fletcher Community Library: Book sale

• St. James Methodist Church: Across from the Library. Big Sale including a nice outdoor bench.

• 524 Main Street: Variety of clothing, boots, car items, knicknacks, homegoods, and other items

• DG Body Works: Bathroom available here. Vendors will be set up outside.

• Svec Park (the Green)

  • Cavendish Connects booth and the Cavendish Historical Society Gazebo: The Cavendish Historical society will have copies of Sandra Stearns book “Cavendish Hillside Farm 1939 to 1957” for sale along with “Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn: The Writer Who Changed History.” In addition, they will be giving away free copies of the 1976 Cavendish Cemetery Guide and other items.

  • Black River Valley Resources (BRVR): The long term recovery group for Cavendish, Ludlow, Mt. Holly and Plymouth will be distributing free “Go Kits” to help prepare for emergencies.

  • Efficiency Vermont: Stop by and pick up freebies to help you save on your energy and water bill.

  • Vermont Department of Health will have an array of their My Healthy Vermont Kits including ones for Sun and Heat Safety, 802 Quits Kits plus nutrition guides, physical activity guides, substance misuse support materials and more.

  • Proctorsville Volunteer Fire Department: BBQ

  • Individual vendors who will be bringing a variety of items including household goods, knickknacks, fishing gear and much more.

  • Cam’s cookies, a popular favorite, will be selling a wide variety of treats.

51 Depot Street: Lamps (at least 2 antiques), Xbox, heavy pine table with 4 chairs and lots of other stuff

73 Depot Street: SuperRoasted will have a variety of coffees and other goodies for the day.
