PROCTORSVILLE MARKET ON THE GREEN 4-7 pm.

IT’S CAVENDISH TOWN WIDE TAG SALE! Saturday from 9-2, there are treasurers to be found all over town. Be sure to check the Website. so you know where to shop and eat. Cavendish Fire Dept has pulled pork while Proctorsville Fire Dept is hosting a BBQ. Very large and multi vendors on both village greens. The Cavendish Library is selling off their DVDs/CDs and Audio books-$1 a piece. If you haven’t picked up your free “Go Kit,” stop by the Black River Valley Resources booth at the Gazebo on the Proctorsville Green.

What to do with items that don’t sell: For clothing, linens, accessories there is the Apparel Impact container by Spaulding’s garage on route 103. There are also a number of such containers in Claremont in the Home Depot parking area. See their acceptable list. Black River Good Neighbors Services in Ludlow takes furniture, clothing, housewares etc. Check out the Cavendish Transfer Station for recycling and other options. DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING ON THE GREENS.

HELP KEEP THE LIGHTS ON AT THE CAVENDISH SHELTER: Two years ago, for months, the town's shelter @ the Cavendish Baptist Church was in full swing-first taking care of the immediate needs of the community following the floods and then housing the volunteer work crews that helped repair the Black River Valley community. Funds are needed to help keep the "lights on" so the shelter is always ready to support our community.  Donation jars are being set up during the Town Wide Tag at the Baptist Church’s tag sale and at the Cavendish Connects booth at the Gazebo on the Proctorsville Green. If you have items you'd like to donate to the Church's tag sale, drop them off at the church today.

CULVERT CRAWLERS ARE IN TOWN! On Monday, July 28, we will once again have Dartmouth students working with us on culvert, ditches and drains. Please drive carefully if you are in the area.

BLACK RIVER WATER TESTING:  According to Black River Action Team, If you get a chance to hit any of our local swimming holes before any significant rainfall, all eight of them (the ones we sample, anyway) are coming in with wonderfully low bacteria counts. Check out our sites and many others at "Is It Clean?" by the CT River Conservancy: https://connecticutriver.us
