Single and double digits, all WELL below the EPA's safe limit of 235 cfu (colony forming units of bacteria per 100 mL of water). Thank you BRAT and those conducting the tests.

1. CAVENDISH HISTORICAL SOCIETY JUNE PROGRAMS: The Cavendish Historical Society (CHS) Museum-1958 Main St.- is now open for the season from 2-4 pm on Sundays. All programs are free and open to the public, donations appreciated.
Programs for the month of June include:
• History Through Craft Workshops: June 13 (Friday), Proctorsville Market 4-7 pm. Make patriotic bubble wans that can be used to celebrate throughout the summer and beyond. Sundays at the Museum visitors can make paper red, white and blue carnations. We’ll be focusing on the colors of the American flag this season: red for valor and bravery; white purity and innocence; and blue: vigilance, perseverance, and justice. Learn more facts about the American flag by clicking here.
• Revolutionary Cemetery Talk and Tour: June 15 (Sunday) 2 pm at the Museum. Learn about Cavendish patriots, many of whom are buried in the Revolutionary War Cemetery. If you wish to participate in the walk dress accordingly. It’s a bit of a hill up to the Revolutionary Cemetery.
• Annual Cavendish Village Ghost Walk: June 21 (Saturday) In keeping with Summer Solstice, the Ghost Walk begins at 8 pm at the Museum. Meet the spirits of Cavendish that have kept more than one person up at night. This includes stops at both the Stone Church and the Cavendish Cemetery. Bring a flashlight and wear comfortable shoes. This event happens even in the rain and is only rescheduled for lighting or flooding. If a change of date is required, it will be posted to the Cavendish VT Facebook page. • GM board votes down sole candidate; to restart the process of filling Chester vacancy: The Green Mountain Unified School District Board last Wednesday voted down the only candidate for the open seat representing Chester. Patricia “Penny” Benelli, a longtime Chester resident who holds a degree in education and recently retired from practicing family law, became the last person standing after John Keller pulled his name from consideration during the meeting. And by a vote of 5 to 4, the board rejected Benelli. Three Chester representatives — Jeff Hance, Rick Alexander and Katie Murphy — voted no along with Andover representative Scott Kendall. Lisa Sanders, Kate Lamphere and Donovan Nichols, all of Cavendish, voted in favor of the appointment along with Chester representative Lois Perlah. Williams, of Baltimore, broke the tie by voting against adding Benelli to the board. Now, according to Layne Millington, superintendent of the Two Rivers Supervisory Union, the board will restart the process by looking for candidates. Chester Telegraph
